ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Reverend Quentin J. White is currently Associate Minister at St. Paul AME Church in Cleveland, Ohio. He is the former Pastor of Grace AME Church in Warren, Ohio from 2020-2022. From 2019-2020 he worked for Ashland Theological Seminary as Associate Director of Certificate programs. Rev. White has served the Virginia Annual Conference of the AME Church as Presiding Elder of the Portsmouth Richmond Roanoke District. For ten years, he was the Lead Chaplain at the Salem Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Salem, Virginia, and prior to this position he served there as a Staff Chaplain. Rev. White pastored several Virginia Conference churches, including St. John AME church of Roanoke; St. Paul AME Church of Blacksburg and Bethel AME Church of Roanoke. He served as Interim Pastor of St. James UMC (United Methodist Church) in Hampton, Virginia. He also served as Chaplain in both the U.S. Naval Reserve and Air Force Reserve.

Reverend White earned a B.A. in Liberal Studies from Wilberforce University in 1980, a Master of Divinity degree from Duke University in 1983; in 1988-89 he studied Religion at the Graduate School of Arts and Science at the University of Virginia; later he earned the Doctor of Ministry at United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio, graduating as a Wyatt Tee Walker Fellow in 1997. In 2009 he completed a residency in Clinical Pastoral Education from the Durham VA Medical Center, and an M. A. in Christian Education at the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology of Virginia Union University in 2010. Also, in 2010 he was selected by the National Association of Veterans Affairs Chaplains as Board Certified Member.

Rev. White is currently serving as a Board Member of the NEOBHC (Northeast Ohio Black Health Coalition) based in Cleveland, Ohio.

He is married to Pamela Small White, who served the Roanoke City Schools in administrative and classroom positions for 38 Years. Pamela is licensed as a local preacher and is a candidate to become an Evangelist in the AME Church. Quentin and Pamela have three daughters, Cherise, Elise, and Rosa.
